We spoke to our Lead Designer, Ilaisa Tabukovu, on the journey of ID Architecture, it’s home and it’s staff, and where he sees the company heading in the future…
ID Architecture was founded by myself. I decided to bring my focus to my family and permanently relocated a new business to Selwyn. Here, ID Architectural Designers was born.
The team grew quickly, with our first junior designer, Olivia, joining us from the beginning and developing her skills alongside our growing business. Mika, our second junior designer, was brought onto the team and is developing his career while completing his studies in Architecture. Melanie was welcomed in as the office manager, and Romeo completes the team as Senior Architectural Technician. Underlying the company’s growth and success are my family values of commitment: my wife, Nichola, manages marketing and my sister, Semaema, runs the accounts.
Having outgrown our home office, ID Architectural Designers moved into a purpose-built office. Since its initiation, the company has expanded to include 3 design staff, an office manager, accounts manager and marketing manager, all of whom have different nationalities. This includes Fijian, Samoan, New Zealand, English, South African and the Philippines. What started as myself, my partner and my sister running out of our home office in our garage has now developed into a business with 6 staff in a purpose built office where we’ll be based for the foreseeable future.
At ID Architectural Designers, we firmly believe that our work is just the beginning of our clients’ personal journeys. Over the years, we have had the privilege of supporting first-time homebuyers to achieve their dream of homeownership and enabling property developers to build three-bedroom rental properties with attached flats, thereby contributing to the local rental property market.
